🥩 Feeding

Poppy eats 2 x per day:

morning ~7.30am and evening ~6.30pm

Each feed:

1 brick of raw food, spoon onto lick matt + 1/2 teaspoon of Chinese herbs

Raw food stored in second drawer of freezer, thaw before feeding to Poppy (I usually thaw 2 bricks over night for the next day)

😴 Bedtime

Poppy sleeps in her crate usually but she is also welcome in the bed - totally up to you but be warned, she’s a bed hog.

If you want her to sleep in the crate, follow these steps:

  1. Say “bedtime”
  2. Grab 1-2 biscuits from the bench, and she will climb in for her treats
  3. Close up the doors
  4. Place blanket overtop so she’s nice and dark
  5. Bed time - when you go to bed
  6. She’ll let you know when she’s awake in the morning, although let her out if you’re up first

🦮 Walking

Poppy loves a good morning walk

Her harness and lead are in the kitchen

She hates putting on the harness but just ask her to wait - she won’t fight you but she definitely won’t help! She may run away but I promise you she loves walks.

She can be a little all over the shop when walking on the lead, she likes to sniff things and say hi to everyone who walks past

Do not walk on day when she goes to Hot Dogs: Thursday

Poppy is great off lead in the park

If you’re taking her to Dickson Park, take the ball with you!

🏠 Home alone

When leaving poppy at home alone, leave the balcony door open enough for her to access her grass for the toilet

Close doors to bedroom, office and bathroom

She’s happy home alone for 6-8 hours (as long as she’s had a walk that day)

🤪 Poppy-isms

Poppy likes to sit at the dining table with you when you eat - she’ll probably be clambering to get onto a spare chair. She’s pretty good at just sitting there with you.

She cannot be trusted around food, do not leave her alone with food on the dining table or lounge room

She loves sitting under the bathroom vanity while you get ready or have a shower.

If she’s pawing at you or gently biting your hand while your on the coach, she wants chest or belly rubs
